For those new to Ishgard or to Society, for those widows and widowers, for those wallflowers and introverts, the Lady Serafina Blanchefleur ( the Lady Love Match of the Season herself, three Seasons ago ) has scheduled a speed courting event!Of course, more relationships other than romantic matter for the season. A dear bosom friend or confident is invaluable navigating Society. So the Lady has included platonic options as well.

⊱⊱ What is EoE? ⊱

Echelons of Etheirys is a CWLS/Discord community in FFXIV’s Crystal Datacenter, for ‘regency-themed’ RP, or rather, roleplaying in FFXIV that deals with the pomp and circumstance of court life. This entails court life from all over Etheirys-- not simply Ishgard and Sharlayan! We focus on both political and court life RP, incorporating many themes and tropes seen in the regency genre. Such as: gossip, maintaining appearances, social conduct, social status, scandal, miscommunication & more!

⊱⊱ What are Regency Themes? ⊱

Many of these classic Regency writers are associated with Romanticism, which is an artistic and intellectual movement that originated in Western Europe in the late 18th century. Romanticism expressed a revolt against the aristocratic, social, and political norms of the Enlightenment period which preceded it. Works during this period stressed strong emotion as a source of aesthetic experience, placing new emphasis on such emotions as anxiety, horror, and the awe experienced when confronting the sublimity of nature. All of these themes are evident in the best-known classic Regency works.- Common themes are social mores, social class, romance, witty conversation, a focus on marriage, and attention to fashion and manners.If you think your character fits these themes, then you are welcome to join!

⊱⊱ What sort of roleplay is the community fostering in EoE? ⊱

‘Regency’ RP, or roleplaying the intrigue and daily lives of members of a noble court. Of course, what probably leaps to mind is Ishgardian’s nobility, and while RPers who write Ishgardian knights or nobles might fit seamlessly with our FC, that is not the only court system in Hydaelyn we recognize. Sharlayans nobility of ‘old families’, Kugane and Doma’s nobles with samurai attendants, the Khans and their warriors of the Steppe, the once proud politicians and noble families of Garlemald, the Monetarists of Ul’dah and the old families of Gridania, the successful moguls of pirate captains in Limsa Lominsa–and so on and so forth.Basically, if you play someone of noble blood, noble deeds that afforded them a high rank in their society, or gained prestige through commerce and trade, your character fits into the ‘court life’ of Etheirys.Yet what if you don’t? If you’re merely a knight or a samurai who serves fealty, or a maid or servant tied to a noble house or are loyal to a long time employer, you have a role to play as well. And if your character is a ronin, a wandering sellsword, or a tradesman or artist looking for a patron with deep pockets, you might find networking opportunities with people looking for such IC connections for their character.

• Event Code of Conduct

▫️Age Requirement.
Members of Echelons of Etheirys must be above 21 years old both in and out of character to be a member of the community. If you are found to be under 21, you will be removed from the community and banned permanently.▫️SFW Server.
We have optional NSFW sections for individuals who want to engage in NSFW and explicit topics. That means that NSFW should only be in the NSFW section, period. We enforce a 1-strike rule, where you will recieve one warning for NSFW content and will then be banned.▫️Regarding NSFW Content.
1. We do not allow NSFW events to be promoted. NSFW events include, but are not limited to:
- any venues or events offering for-pay ERP / “consort” services,
- venues or events with a heavy focus / emphasis on illict drug use,
- venues or events featuring heavy and explicit violence beyond the bounds of what would be present in the game (fight clubs, combat events, et cetera are fine).
Depictions of violence should be more along the line of Lord of the Rings or Pirates of the Caribbean than Game of Thrones.
2. No part of your public-facing profile should include NSFW or explicit content. Many of our community choose to abstain from NSFW and explicit content and they should be able to click your profile at any time without encountering it. This includes but is not limited to your display name, bio information, your icon, your header, and the names linked in your social media field(s).
3. Any and all NSFW content should be posted only within the NSFW section of the Discord if it is any more than a passive mention of the existence of something NSFW. Remarking that drugs exist is permissible in SFW spaces. Explicitly describing drug use, ie, used needles, is not.
4. No Lalafell NSFW or extreme kinks should be mentioned, even if warned and spoilered.
5. No fetish or fetishizing language. We do not allow any manner of fetish character in this server.
> The use of fetishizing language / slurs is strictly prohibited. Examples include, but are not limited to, futa, trap, femboy, cuntboy, dickgirl, shemale, and associated terms. If asked to not use a particular 'reclaimed' slur or term publicly for the comfort of other members, please do so immediately.▫️TW / Spoiler Policy
Please be sure to trigger warn and spoil content that may be triggering. This involves drugs/mind-altering substances, kinks, violence, etc. (These should always be in NSFW channels.) Extreme / heavy kinks should at no point be referenced or shared in the Discord.▫️Inclusivity.
Many people have different ideologies or backgrounds/life experiences than you. This isn't the place for heavy topics (politics and controversial events). Take it to DM’s, and listen when people tell you to drop a topic.▫️Bigotry and hatefulness.
Respect everyone; be kind to each other and be civil. Disrespect of community members may result in a ban. This includes bullying, kinkshaming, racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, and so on. This includes derogatory statements or jokes regarding the creative decisions of others. Furthermore, if another individual asks you to stop making comments/jokes of any kind, you will abide by their request.▫️ Proactive Bystanders.
If you see something at an event or in the server that makes you or others uncomfortable; promotes hatespeech, bigotry, discrimination, etc; or other behaviors that are untoward, you are responsible for bringing it to the attention of the moderators. If you see something, say something.▫️Stay On Topic
Please make an effort to keep conversations on track with the channel that you are in. Conversations may wander and meander, but please relocate a conversation if asked to by a member of the moderation team.▫️Be Proactive
While we are here to encourage and facilitate roleplay, it is not the job of community leaders to provide you with roleplay. Please be proactive and create the events, characters, and stories that you want to see and be a part of.▫️Open / Closed DM Rule
We ask that you be respectful of the DMs open, DMs closed, Ask to DM roles. If someone has either the Ask to DM or DMs closed role and you would like to DM them, use the designated ask-to-dm channel.▫️Lore-Adjacent
FFXIV has a plethora of lore to weave through, with many delightful holes in it to worldbuild things for yourself. Hence why we are lore-adjacent, but not strictly adherent to it. That being said, we ask that our members at least keep their characters and stories attached to the lore. If you have questions about the lore, or are unfamiliar with it, feel free to ask questions in our lore channel!▫️Metagaming / Godmoding / Power Levels
Your character should not be an all-powerful Godkiller with no flaws. Your character should have a reasonable power level given the setting that they are in.
- A good rule of thumb is that your character should be a character, not the Character. Example: a Temple Knight, not the Lord Commander; a Khan of the Steppe, not the Khagan.▫️ Obtain Consent.
Whether you are considering dropping a potentially triggering topic in RP, or wanting to cause a bit of IC drama--you must obtain prior consent.▫️Your Discord Display Name

We understand that people don't always get along and would rather block someone they would rather not converse with, but blocking moderators inherently prohibits us from doing our jobs. The Regency is a gentlethem's club, meaning it strives to discard expectations of clubs and normal roles and raise the bar on interaction of a higher caliber.Special note: while this is an 18+ venue, we do not offer NSFW services of any kind. We are simply age locked due to content you may encounter in dialogue. Additionally, we do exchange gil for drinks in-game, with costs being OOC affordable, where prices IC would be that of an upscale lounge.

for attendees of Echelons of Etheirys event:

1. Engagement
Your roleplay is your responsibility. We encourage everyone to be active at events and seek out their own roleplay. Wallflowering and then complaining afterwards about a lack of engagement at events is frowned upon. This is an active hobby, and we are not responsible for bringing the roleplay to you.2. Sensitive Topics
While we are a 21+ community, that does not mean all topics are free reign. It is impossible to screen for everyone’s triggers, lines, and veils at a roleplay event. Please be considerate with the content that you put in public chat including, but not limited to, violence, trauma, drug use / abuse, sexual content, and similar themes. If at any point you are asked to move a conversation out of the public eye, please do so.3. Dress Codes
Please be mindful of themes and dress codes. Some events are more formal than others. Some may possess color themes, or requests on what attendees wear.4. Theme
In a similar vein, be mindful of the purpose of an event before engaging. For example, brawling at a ball would no be permitted. Keep to the theme and flavor of the event out of respect for the organizers and your fellow attendees. Our goal is to be as immersive as possible with these events, so please take this in consideration when selecting which character you will be bringing.5. OOC Conflict
In character drama is to be expected in a Regency-themed roleplay group, but we do not abide by out of character drama such as stalking, harassment, et cetera. Do not make anyone uncomfortable at roleplay events by engaging in such behavior. If someone asks to be left alone, they should be left alone.6. Conflict & Consent
Consent is key in all roleplay interactions. Do not drum up unwanted or spontaneous conflict without the consent of all parties involved, and consideration of the people around you at the event. When possible, move these high-drama scenes to side rooms or away from the general public.7. Sign-up Events & No-Shows
Some of our events require sign up, including tournaments, jousts, some dances and balls, et cetera. If you sign up for an event and do not show up and do not communicate your absence to the event organization team, you will be disqualified from the next event that requires a sign up. If you no show without communication three times in a six month span, you will be barred from signing up for any events for six months. Repeated infractions of this rule may result in you being blacklisted from signing up permanently. Please respect the time of our event organizers. A quick “something came up, I won’t be there,” before or “I’m sorry I missed it, my child was ill,” after the event are sufficient. If you discover a no-show before the event coordinators do (example: your dance partner does not show up at the ball), please report it to a member of event coordination.8. Rules
